First Full Day In Iceland, by Max

As our first full day in Iceland (also of our trip) we really had lots of fun, we started the day by Mommy waking at 10:00, me at 11:00, Cedar at around 11:30, and Daddy at about 14:00. We then went to our first Kronan (a supermarket), and had lunch as rye and lox, apples, gouda, and a yogurt drink. Then we started driving towards the Blue Lagoon. On the way we saw some amazing lava formations covered in moss,

the moss covered most things, and felt like wool. We took lots of pictures and I climbed on top of a formation and we decided to leave.
At the Blue Lagoon I got in thinking that it would feel like a hot tub but really it felt like a hot pool (about bath temperature).  We swam over to a little island with tons of steam coming out and the water around it was a lot hotter. Mommy saw people swimming around with white mud masks so we set out to find the masks. We saw a station for it with white buckets full of gloop. We picked some up and, with dismay saw that it was lotion. About an hour later we discovered the right thing dwelt behind underwater benches. It smelled bad (not to parents) and it took a while to dry and become white, but we found it! Around this time we were very thirsty, so we went over to the drinks and saw that we could get 2 slushies for 1,000 Icelandic kroner, so we did. The slushies came in a plastic bottle saying KRAP!
(I’m sure it means slushie in Icelandic, but to us Americans it means crap.) Cedar said I want to go home, so Mommy said let’s just relax and drink our crap. Many laughs. We had dinner at 23:00, but it looked and felt like 17:00. Here there is 24 hours of daylight! At around 2:00 it’s about as light as the lightest part of the sunset where it turns blue, about the color of about a summer night at 21:00 in New York, and then it gets light. (2:00 is the darkest). When Cedar was forced asleep at 23:30, she said (with jet lag) it’s not dark yet.
