Tanning in Iceland, by Alissa

Working on our Iceland tan today at the Mossfellsbaer pool.

For about 1/12th the price of the Blue Lagoon, the Schwartz and Drurys spent the entire afternoon soaking and playing in the outdoor geothermically heated swimming pool of a nearby neighborhood. Every neighborhood has one, and our friends tipped us off about Mossfellsbaer’s. With three water slides, a kiddy section, and three giant hot tubs set at different temperatures, what’s not to like? Max perfected his sliding technique, zoning in on head first, arms outstretched. Cedar got in the action, too, and by the end of the day we were amazed to watch her barrel down a long spiral tunnel all on her own! This is clearly where local folks come to unwind. Indeed, we’ve learned that pool culture rivals café culture in these here parts.
And, yes, after spending 3 hours out in the 59 degree day, we DID end up with tans!
